We probably would've been able to put them on him a bit earlier but we JUST realized that he's outgrown the newborn-sized disposable diapers! A little slow there....

Very early on in my pregnancy, I researched alternatives to disposable diapers. I don't live every aspect of my life in a "green" way but I try and do what I can do. And when I saw all those cute new cloth diapers out there I thought, "I think we can do this!" These aren't the piece-of-cloth-plus-pins type that our parents were accustomed to. They have snaps or velcro and pockets to stuff the perfect liners in and they come in bold colors and patterns! Forget shopping for shoes, I'm shopping for diapers!

I'm glad Matt was on board with this because little did he know, he would be Head Diaper Changer.

Excuse me now....I have to go shop for some more diapers!

P.S.
As of today, my blog has changed names!

Hi Rosanna! We cloth diaper too and it has been quite a ride--lots to choose from and they are all so very different in sizing and features. Let me know if you need any help, advice, or just want to commiserate and celebrate the joys of scrubbing poop from cloth while and saving the earth at the same time! Joni P.S. Our son's middle name is Finn. :)

Hi! I'm a first-time commenter. I like your blog!

I'm pretty green myself, but in the end we decided not to go with cloth diapers. We're using Nature Babycare diapers, which are supposed to be better for the environment than any other diaper on the market. I know that NO disposable diaper is really great for the environment, but at least this one is better! There's NO petroleum used in these diapers, unlike just about every diaper on the market. If you ever need disposable in a jiffy, I highly recommend them.

I still think about switching to cloth diapers...It'll be interesting to see how it goes for you!

Oh, and what a beautiful baby boy you have!

Hi Jonna!
I'll have to check out the Nature Babycare diapers and see if they're available in Canada! They would be a nice alternative for traveling.

It's been one full week of cloth diapering and so far I'm still loving it!
