That is what I BINGO'd on tonight and won $600-something (but I didn't really win that much....explanation later)!!!

Grandma Anderson is in town for Thanksgiving and she's pretty bored at home all the time so Matt's mom has taken her to BINGO a few times. My first real BINGO game was a few years ago when we went to visit Grandma A. in Canwood SK. She was going to cancel her BINGO date with her friend Ann but we didn't want her to do that so we went with her. I was actually really excited to go with her....mostly because I got to go buy some fun colored bingo dabbers...hahahaha. I totally give props to the little old ladies who have a table FULL of cards and they are dabbing away and Matt and I could hardly keep up!!! Remember in school whenever we played bingo? You called "BINGO!" when you got a straight or diagonal line. NOT SO in REAL bingo!!
Bingo players have their own language!! Ok, cut to tonight. You stand in line to buy all the different cards/sheets for different games. The first game, the goal is to get 4 corners or a line...this is where I won the very first bingo of the night! $50- I got 4 corners. I actually missed it but this one guy at our table says, "I got 3 corners" and I looked down at my cards and in one box, I got 4!!! OMG! So Matt's mom throws my arm up like I won a boxing match and yells bingo for me!! HAHAHAHA. Then we continue on the same cards and they keep calling numbers and the goal is to get "double lines"-- any 2 lines. Then the next one is an "X" or "crazy L's"--an L either way. Then the box. Then blackout. This is all still on the same card!! It's so hard to keep track of what game we're playing!! I have a suggestion for any bingo callers out there than may read my blog....can't you say, "ok, I'm gonna start calling #'s now." They just start!! I won't bore you with explanations of how all the games are played...let's just say there's just lots! So I won the very first BINGO and the very last one of the night! So my total winnings should've been about $700 BUT Matt's moms' regular bingo group of 5 people always pool their winnings and split it. So tonight, with the addition of Grandma and I, there were 7 of us. So at the end of the night, we each took home $122....woohoo!! Yeah I could've won more if I didn't have to share, but I'm still ahead and everybody had fun! It might've been a different story if I won the satellite bingo of $17000!!
I'm only going to go to bingo if Grandma Anderson is in town or if we're in Canwood visiting her.....I think she's my new lucky charm!
